nascar sprint weekend was divine. weather was warm, the hotel was amazing and well, I loved the race. really. the hum of the cars, the crashes and my racer #4 Kasey Kane won it all. should have put money on that. now all I need is a wife beater and cutoffs to wear to the race...
and daddy was happy. it was the first time we left ry-ry for that long. he was happy with grans and grandpa matt. that made me happy. me and my love didn't know what to do with ourselves. it was such a good time.

and this year was amazing right down to the weather. gorge. even started a new tradition, letting the minis wear their costumes all day if they wanted. and they did. except ryder jude, that is mr. messy at this age. soon, baby, soon. Grae was even called "buzz" and momma had to get him a white costume. so we had a little dirty buzz by the time our party rolled around. didn't seem to matter. they all loved it.
and our party wasn't just halloween it was STAR WARS themed halloween. so fun and yummy. my fav was the han-burgers and yoda soda.
we even had an appearance from dumbledore and harry. the minis could have died. they loved that, too.
thanks grans and grandpa matt for coming. we missed our cousins and aunties and uncles. and Juddie was even darth vader!

so gen's baby shower was bananas. really missed her, she looked pregnant! so excited for her to be a momma.
and I did the decorations and candy bar and treats. so when we were planning the shower, I thought she said she was doing the baby's room in deer. and I thought, woodland theme(!) shower. which I just fell in love with. but she actually said GEARS not DEERS and I didn't realize it until we were on our way home from the event and she mentioned it. oh well.
and I didn't get one pict of when the guests were there. lame.

so our Ry-ry had a bangin' birthday. don't judge the amount of photos in this post, seemingly a record as of late, but this momma couldn't get enough of this last first birthday for the palmer boys. so bittersweet.
and this party, with all its maps and moxie had ribs, steaks, lemon sugar cookies with sprinkes, mint choc cupcakies, macaroon choc dipped marshmellows, candy bar, and 4 inch round 4 tier birthday cake only for the birthday boy. with a sparkler candle. and a number one pinata, didn't get picts of. and the bouncy castle, didn't get picts of that either. and all his little friends and grans and grandpa matt and Granny Barbs.
and he loved it all. thanks for all the gifts and for coming!

we spent last week in st. georgie and soaked up all the sun. it was lovely to get away. swam and shopped and ate. stayed like kings in the presidential suite with grans and grandpa matt. uncle mattie looked handsome in his sprint shirt. and thrifted. at Jenny Larson's Urban Renewals on the blvd. in love with that store. I found a vintage bedcover that I am obsessed with. should I cut it into a table cloth? pillows? oh, the possibilies are endless. also found a darling snap grey handbag and a vintage roadmap of LA to frame. run don't walk.

so I took the boys to DI for the last time this summer yesterday. couldn't pass up this mid-century gem. I am going to have it professionally recovered so watch for the after. cannot wait.

this shelf was long overdue in the minis room. went to lowe's, bought prefab shelves in 2 sizes, and brown beadboard for backing. I had bought a mid-century shelf with little feet, removed those and simply screwed everything together. then screwed on the feet. I bought all the weaved bins at TJMAXX. loved how it turned out. everything has it's place. yay.

so Ryder is leading the revolt on NOT sleeping in his bed. like ever. he only wants to nap on me or daddy and cries and cries when it's time for bed. being the bad guy isn't fun.
while ry-ry was crying tonight... I hear my Grae with his beautiful blonde curls, freshly washed by daddy, up the stairs singing "shower-shower-shower" and settles into my bed saying "look what I brought you mommy, chocolate" and a tear came to my eye. what a fun, long summer. and my two big boys going to school, Jax all day. well, wish I could turn back the clock just a little. not ready to let my boys go just yet.
so the chocolate was perfect and my life is well, perfect too. even with the little tears.
my sweet boys, I will never want you to grow up. and I love you daddy.

just realized that a blog I read is a cousin of my dearest and most missed darling dear friend from college that tragically passed away a week after I got married years ago. and I miss her. a lot. she had a wonderful little family and then she was gone. and then I felt so thankful for what I have. that I have my boys, my life. even then little naughty things my boys do. have to say I secretly laugh about them. my Grae was today in nursery. but when I saw him after all I could do was look at those long eye lashes and blond perfect curls and just die. when daddy and I got in the car we both just rolled. guess Grae is going to be a sunbeam with us a little early. and Jax looked so handsome in his orange churchie shirt. Nasch with his red curls. and my baby boy Rydie, who claps and claps in singing time. oh, and best of all-Daddy. my handsome Daddy that lets all our little sunbeams sit on his lap and touch his scratchy face. and then he looks at me. feels like a million lights are on me. never ever change a thing.

busy doesn't cover it at our house. so stuff goes on the back burner. so busy just keeping my three minis productive and the minimini happy. summer as I remember it didn't see to be that much work. between the soccer and tball and golf, tennis, and swim lessons we have made 4 superhero capes, 3 batman masks, thrifted, finished a dress order, filled vintage polite orders, made a boat-load of lists, went to disneyland, and filled our summer with reunions, hunting, holidays and playdates. can't wait for the heat now. here's a couple of happenings.

so blogland is going crazy over pinterest. and so am I. the more I look the more I want to see. and whoever came up with the idea-brilliant. if you haven't been there yet, run don't walk.

and the mavs won last night. ahh. hope they win it all. and isn't the man-child lebrawn amazing? like butter. everyone says daddy looks like dirk. definatly in the hair. when I met him it was longer and curly just like that. yum.

got gutsy and wallpaperd my kitchen. and I liked it. very tedious work, though. and time consuming. told daddy this wall was my guinea pig for the new house. I understand why people hire that sort of stuff out.

and I can't wait to attempt this project in the older boys room, for all their books and knicky-nacks and such. on a slightly smaller scale. I hope to make the shelves a little wider from the wall. see how that all goes.

currently redecorating the boys rooms, just moving things around and painting furniture. that kind of therapy just can't be bought. having a ball sewing, soon to have some new pieces in my wardrobe and new summer clothes for boys. and cousin wrennie-bird, too.

sorry abt the blog abandon. we have been swamped. just finished a chevron circle pillow for the shop, picts and posting to come asap. waiting and waiting for my new furniture...showed our house twice, got a new computer, redecorated. now working on a couple of polite orders, my Gready Drake turned three(!!) and had a mexican fiesta with a pinata, picts coming. thrifted. have I ever mentioned we have the bestie DI here in Logan? and full of furniture? yep. when we sell, I will miss it terribly. oh, and spring break last week so my days were filled with minis activites and riding our new bikes. between snowstorms.

other news...
Ry-ry likes his cereal. he's officially not a little baby anymore. ok by me, since he is like 18 lbs. those are my big palmer boys. all 4 of them like that.
Naschie had a st. patties party at his school and loved it. Jax did too. and made a clover hat. his whole class wore them out to be picked up. photo opt that I missed. so cute.
all the boys minus the mini rode their new four-wheeler like little banshees. a little too fast for momma if you ask me. and Grae? he lookes like a 12 yr old on it.
found new chore charts, and bulletin board for kitchen for everything schedule and school work. my boys are so proud of their work. so am I. secretly bursting with pride.
and survived the Jazz game with extended family. and loved it. Ry got a little millsap jersey, darling on, and Grae one too. Grae wanted to wear it everyday this week and to bed. sort of a birthday tradition for Nasch's day, we have gone 3 years now. and he loves it every year. hope that tradition never ends.

k. these chairs have been sitting in my garage forever. finally finished. just couldn't make up my mind.
silhouettes. do they look familiar? yep, all the Palmer's. made from thrifted wooden plaques, krylon white gloss spraypaint, a little modgepodge and black paper. did it the easy way, just took picts of profiles then printed and cut them out. then traced cutouts on to black card stock. then cut out again. easy peasy. love seeing them in my living room.
and yep, that is an easter wreath on my banquet in the chairs pict. what can I say, we love easter around here. and spring!

so we took ourselves down to the fourwheelers lot on saturday morn to look at the pretties. or yummies, Grae would say. and daddy picked ourselves out a big and mini atv. black one for daddy with all the bells and whistles and a mini 90 for our minis. and they haven't stopped talking or sitting on them even when they are parked in our garage since. in fact, Naschie asks me hourly when we can drive them again. just realized I haven't posted my finished thrifted table. it was actually done a month before ryder jude baby was born. and I bought it for $60 with four terrible chairs that I redonated like a sec after I bought them. then well, I didn't sand. and primed the heck out of it, a couple coates of black then 2 coats of high gloss poly. and I guard it with my life, so in every photo you see a table cloth. I do have 4 boys.

just wanted to list what has happened in the last three days. are you ready for this?k, here we go.
made valentines for little boys from momma and daddy. not to be confused with the almost 40 valentines made this week combined for jax and naschie for school.
bought daddy's valentines, so excited for his surprises.
planned valentines weekend for the palmer boys.
went to fun hotel, WITH pool, friday nite, remembered movies and treats.
took everyone to yummy chinese food place + sushi for momma and daddy. the boys call it chinea food since it is from chinea, right? love it.
swam x2, set out valentines and knocked on the door.
got ready for naschie's birthday party (picts to come) on saturday afternoon, got 5 shirt done. bought his birthday gifts and his kobe bryant nikes just like daddy's.
GOT MY NEW CAMERA and LENS IN THE MAIL. ooh, and LOVING it.
went to naschie's party, everyone came. over the top fun. it wore my boy right out.
GOT a PACKAGE from ANTHRO in the mail. daddy said happy vday. ;)
watched utah state win.
made it to di at like 7:30. found a killer bedframe and some vintage scriptures.
made it to all 3 hrs of church and everyone went to their classes. yay.
waffles for lunchie, meatballs for dinner. grammys dvrd. watched it with daddy and ryder jude, fastforwarded all the boring stuff. isn't mick jaggar like 80? wow.
found a stencil for a patterned wall online, shopped drapery. I think I am going to redecorate the brown room. and paint kitchen, master and master bath. sometime.
date tonight with daddy. heart-shaped pepperonis on our pizza dinner tonight.

so remember the post about the anthro copper bureau? so here is mine. the picts are crappy, my nice camera is well, broken. getting my new one soon, I hope. anyway, loved that mine had a copper-y sheen just like the anthro one. and i like my drawer pulls BETTER. is that possible? I used Ralph Lauren paint in metallic copper from home depot. like $22 a gal. then a generic deep brown glaze that I rubbed on, then finished with a coat of gloss poly. and done. daddy likes it even more than before.

I am officially closing palmegranateandco.etsy.com down. like for good. don't worry. all the goodies for your kiddos are moving in with vintage baby and kids clothes, my crochet creations(like my kids hats and the blessing dress listing), vintage jewelry and home goods over at polite.etsy.com. and polite is even getting a make over. so this is just the start. and my nice camera is caput so I will be waiting to post over there until I get my new nikon. so excited about that, too. I am stock piling as we speak of all sorts of "yummies" Graedy would say.
okay, so I am so excited about my first renewredo project. found it thrifting this week and it was a pretty penny but I LOVED it. it's a grandfather clock from the '70's. and a heavy bugger. it's going to be amazing all painted and chimming away in my kitchen. and again, waiting for my camera.
and here is a funny from our little life at the palmer household. baby ryder jude was laying on the bed with me fold the yet endless laundry loads done today and most everyday around here. I went to put his things in his room when I could hear around the corner Naschie say, "I don't know what kind of dog that is." X2. Nasch was leaned over the baby looking at his Yoda from star wars onesie. I just rolled and Nasch thought I had lost my marbles. such a cute boy.

I told daddy last night that I was in a rut of sorts and needed to get out. so this couch otta do it, right? maybe someday when I can actually decorate a new house. just keeping a list. btw, urban outfitters is the bomb for furniture right now.

couldn't have loved more the way ry-ry's blessing clothes turned out. could you just die for the ruffles? my mom(amazing seamstress) made the baby jumpsuit. perfectly. loved the saddlebacks from etsy and I knitted(yes, KNITTED) the sweater. that could have turned out a little better, but in the end you couldn't even tell. and it was my first knitted sweater. I even kinda liked making it. might even make more. bowtie was vintage palmer, an old temple tie of grandpa rick's. the blanket I crocheted and just loved the way it turned out, and now he can use it anytime. it was such a special day and these picts are so precious.

brighstar is almost offically getting the other st. george sprint store. that means more time in st. george. and daddy got more marriott vouchers. it is official in the middle of January, but we probubly will be going in February. could that work for you guys?

this is daddy's christmas. candy red 2010 ford f150 decked to the nines. my fav part is the camera that pops up in the rear view mirror while you are backing up so you don't hit anything. like the garage. which I currently hold the title for, 2 me 0 daddy. and it wasn't in this new truck, in the infinity. guess I wasn't meant to drive anything bigger than a sedan. sad. now Jay can drive through sardine canyon with no problems, and run everyone over in his way. not the best pict, but it did have the boys in the bed. they were soo over-the-moon about daddy's new truck. it is so shiny and well, pretty.

I didn't expect THIS.
yes, its CHANEL. a CHANEL BAG. a PINK CHANEL BAG. my literal dream come true. and it was his idea. hands-down best hubby in the world.
daddy came to me with a printed out page or two a couple of weeks ago and asked me if I would like a "pink bag" or something for christmas. of course I love pink, so I said sure and he handed me the papers. when I realized we were looking at listings for a pink CHANEL bag I about died. maybe I did, and went to heaven.
CANNOT WAIT for it to get here, and it should be right in time for christmas. more picts to come.

have you noticed I have had a dress order this week? between that and finishing Ryder Jude's sweater for his blessing in a week and a half I have been swamped. and that spent all my free time minus sleep time. like at night. crazy when you cut into night sleeping when you need to find extra time. must be a momma. what I meant to say is that dot-a-day is coming back soon.

todays is hot chocolate with peppermint candy canes in it from walmart for 57 cents a pack. comfort in a cup. sorry no pict. and Ry-ry is smiling now. maybe I can catch one for a dot.

just found a beaut lamp for my side of the bed table. my collection of thrifted lamps? yes, I am proud. don't know what I love more, that they are vintage or CHEAP. and I am such a lamp horder. don't care since you can use them anywhere, right?

so this lamp I spray-painted all the brass glossy black. the shade is anthropologie.

what of the owl do you say? yes. it's a lamp that lights from inside. it is so cute lit. the pict doesn't do it justice.

so daddy asked me why he hasn't been a dot yet. well, today he is. and he did so good.
opened a letter today from the canyons resort in park city with 4 lift passes for this season inside. then I called daddy, which he said he was able to trade out our last 4 passes from last season for this season last week. it was a complete surprise for me. seems like he planned it that way. and I loved it. love you forever, babe.

guess thats what I am. a crafter. maybe I could consider it as being more creative and well, industrial. I tell myself and my husband that it is cheaper and more unique to make "fill-in-the-blank". and you would know my sickness if you saw my house. full of thrifted and redone furniture and new uses for old things. which leads me to halloween. yep, I know.
so, I tried really hard to find the time this year to make all four halloween costumes. which I usually love making the boys costumes, but this new baby and laundry piles and hardly the time to cook... the costumes were purchased this year. so two little iornmen (with built-in muscles) and a thomas the choo-choo look a little retail but totally the real thing. the boys tried on their costumes tonight and had a delightful time breaking them in. oh, and the newest little palmer boy? a sleepy owl. totally made a crochet cap and a felt owl costume for Ryder Jude. so I did get to make one of them. so excited for halloween.

our new baby boy, Ryder Jude is finally here! Born 10/1/10, 8 lbs 1 oz. 20.5 inches long. and long dark hair. at least long for the palmer boys standard. welcome to the world baby.
